Parker Pear
A cold-hardy classic introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1934, the Parker pear is a reliable favorite for northern growers.
The fruit is medium to large, with a yellow-bronze skin blushed red on the sunny side. Inside, you’ll find fine-grained, juicy white flesh—perfect for fresh eating, baking, or juicing. Unlike many pears, Parker can be picked fully ripe from the tree without risking core rot, though early picking and refrigeration will extend shelf life.
